Veronica J. Gillis, nee Marinko. Age 97 of Park Ridge, formerly of Andersonville. Beloved wife for 75 years of the late Winfred "Win". Loving mother of John (Cynthia), Paul (Sheila), Marilyn (Rudy) Lading, Linda Ryan and Robert (Melissa). Proud grandmother and great-grandmother of many. Veronica and her late husband owned Gillis Grocery in Lakeview for decades while raising their family in Chicago. She was an active member of St. Gregory the Great Parish in Chicago, enjoyed gambling, the Cubs, being a Girl Scout leader, crafts and her family. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 10 a.m. at St. Paul of the Cross Church, 140 S. Northwest Hwy., Park Ridge. Entombment to follow in Maryhill Cemetery.

Winfred “Win” John Gillis, 96, of Chicago, passed away on February 2, 2022. He was the beloved husband of 75 years of Veronica; loving father of John (Cynthia) Gillis, Paul (Sheila) Gillis, Marilyn (Rudy) Lading, Linda Ryan, Robert (Melissa) Gillis; proud grandfather and great grandfather of many. Win was a United States Veteran and served as a Quartermaster in the Pacific during World War II. He owned Gillis grocery in Lakeview for decades while raising his family in Chicago. Win loved his family, travel, golfing, fishing, and the Green Bay Packers. The Funeral will be held on Saturday, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul of the Cross Church in Park Ridge.
