Katherine died during the summer at the age of 78. She had walked to St. Mary’s for confession (not a bad hike for her age) and stopped to visit a friend - the Pints. She had a heart attack at their home and died immediately.

Casper had been confined to his wheel chair for many years and was pretty helpless. He liked to have Margaret shave him and cut his hair. After she was married she used to walk that mile back home to take care of these duties, generally pushing one of the babies in the buggy.
