November 11 1918 - The War ended. By way of celebrating, all the church bells were rung. Trace was lucky enough to get the job of ringing those at St Patricks - - for hours.
Theresa decided she wanted to become a Beauty Operator and enrolled at Burnhams, in the loop. She stayed with Ed and Elsie while she attended school. (They lived at 2011 Addison Street in a home which had been Elsies’ parents.) She came home nearly every week-end, and gave her little sisters free sets or even “marcels”, which were then in style.
When she graduated and passed the state exam she opened a shop in Chicago at 1125 Belmont Avenue. She stayed there for a number of years and later moved to a larger shop at 3540 N. Racine Ave.
