Both Paul and Joe had followed in their Dad’s footsteps and became carpenters, Paul working mostly with his Dad and Joe with several different contractors.

Paul married Kathyrn Blum at St. Mary’s Church on September 12th 1931. Their attendants were Kay’s brother Harvey and Paul’s sister Theresa. Kay was a Chicago girl whose parents had a summer home on the river at Emerald Park. The newlyweds lived in McHenry for a short time, the tried Chicago for about a year but decided it was not for them and came back to McHenry. They rented for awhile and then built a home at 3507 West Washington Street. Paul went back to work as a carpenter for Steve Freund, where his Dad worked for some time.
