It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lois C. Kasper, who left us on Monday, February 17, 2025, in McHenry, IL. She was born on Wednesday, March 30, 1938, in Elgin, IL.
Lois lived a life full of love and leaves a lasting impact on all who knew her. Lois and her beloved husband, late Peter Kasper Sr., were married on August 25, 1973, at St. Mary Catholic Church in McHenry, creating a beautiful partnership that lasted 51 joyful years. She dedicated a significant part of her professional life to Centegra Hospital, now Northwestern Hospital, where she worked for 11 years. Music was a cornerstone of her life; she was an active choir member at St. Mary's for over 65 years. Lois also enjoyed the camaraderie of the Lois Club, a special group for women with the same name, and had a passion for the Sweet Adelines.
Lois is survived by her children: Catherine A. Dalton of Johnsburg, IL and Cynthia J. Johnson of Woodstock, IL; her stepchildren: Peter J. (Naomie) Kasper Jr. of Harvard, IL, and Pamela A. Kidd. of Phenix City AL; her grandchildren: Nicholas (Crystal) Damiano, Anna Damiano, and Matthew J. Dalton; her step grandchildren: Peter J. (Jenna) Kasper III and Daniel L. (Lita) Kasper Jr.; her great-grandchildren: Diamond, Sapphire, Jasper, and Jett; her step great-grandchildren: Landon, Genevieve, Jackson, and Samuel; her brother: James J. (Evelyn) Brefeld of Poplar Grove, IL; her recently reunited family including her sister Sandra Kay Johnson of Lincoln, NE; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Peter J. Kasper Sr.; her parents: Joseph J. and Lillian C. Brefeld; and many: aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 1st, 2025 at St. Mary Catholic Church in McHenry, IL at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
We ask that any Memorial donations be made to St Mary Catholic Church in McHenry, IL and Valley Hi Nursing Home in Woodstock, IL.
Though she may no longer be with us, Lois's spirit will continue to live on in our hearts. She will be missed dearly.
